Betwixt Red and Blue — reflections on SDK’s First Anniversary

One year has passed since SDK first opened its doors with the exhibition Cultural Superhighway.

What began as an experiment — a space created by artists, for artists and neighbors alike — has grown into a site of encounter, exchange, and cohabitation.

To stand between red and blue is to stand in a place of ambivalence. Not indecision, but the recognition that life and practice are rarely singular. We live between languages, between nations, between the roles of artist and organizer, friend and host. In this way, SDK has always been a threshold: not fully one thing, not fully another, but a bridge that makes passage possible.
