Invitation Text : someone’s someone (i am all yours, if you let me be.) by Daeun Lim

As I prepare this year’s final exhibition with Daeun, I find myself reflecting once again on the complexity of the emotional landscapes a person traverses. Records written as if speaking to someone, sentences left behind to endure alone, the process of a heart breaking and mending—these became the starting point of this exhibition.

This work seems to begin from the subtle bodily reactions we experience when losing or letting someone go: the rhythm of our breath, the temperature of waiting, the cadence and shifts of our steps. The fragile balance after love, the sudden emptiness, and the quiet courage that grows in that space have been translated into a spatial structure that flows throughout the gallery.
